What's in the Premier Healthcare Database?

A HIPAA-compliant, retrospective database, the Premier Healthcare Database (PHD) comprises U.S. hospital-based, service-level, all-payer information on inpatient discharges (representing about 25 percent of annual U.S. inpatient admissions) and more than 1.3 billion outpatient visits.* It’s a comprehensive repository of clinical, operational, financial and supply chain data, providing real-world insights for an evidence-based analysis of treatments, disease states, resource utilization and healthcare outcomes.

Chargemaster Data

The PHD includes chargemaster data, which, when paired with claims data, forms the largest data set of its kind in the country. Chargemaster data identifies every device, drug and intervention used, along with cost of care, physicians, diagnoses, department detail and demographics, delivering essential context to inform decision-making.
