A record number (over 3,000) of members, clients, suppliers and guests participated in the 2007 event in Orlando the third week of June. Close to 370 suppliers occupied 400 booths at the sold out trade show and all of our hotels were bursting at the seams. Plenary session speakers drew record crowds on important, relevant topics: Fred Lee, If Disney Ran your Hospital; Linda Ellerbee, Patient at the Center of Care; Tony Dungy, Motivating for Success. Both Linda and Tony received standing ovations.
Seventeen different education tracks along with numerous pre-sessions, ancillary sessions and breakfasts allowed attendees to create their own curriculums. Pre-sessions included Supply Chain Breakthrough Series, Hospital Associated Infections, Baldrige Journey, Sponsors of Affiliates and many others. Education track categories – featuring members sharing best practices – addressed: supply chain operations and savings; clinical performance improvement; continuum of care; foodservice; leadership; management strategies; managing drug expense; operations; risk management; safety/environment; technology; workforce excellence. Attendees were also able to take advantage of one on one interaction opportunities with Premier staff via Premier Village, Premier Academy and the computer lab.
Nearly 100 award winners from across the Premier family were recognized at a newly created Awards Ceremony held at the beginning of the conference: Diversity, Pinnacle, Quality, Supply Chain Excellence and Supply Chain Innovation.
