Premier names VP of Integrated Product Management and Marketing to lead development of new solutions for hospitals
CHARLOTTE, NC (August 2, 2007) — Randy Thomas has joined the Premier healthcare alliance as vice president of Integrated Product Management and Marketing reporting to Premier Chief Operating Officer Susan DeVore.
Thomas fills a newly created role designed to continue the development of integrated products that allow hospitals to simultaneously improve quality of care while reducing costs. Thomas will lead the development of solutions that tap Premier’s unique combination of resources, including Premier’s market-leading databases of information about hospital cost and quality; supply chain automation technology; knowledge-sharing infrastructure and consulting capabilities.
“Our healthcare alliance has developed amazing technological resources to support our member hospitals’ efforts to improve quality and reduce costs,” DeVore said. “Randy will lead the ongoing development of new solutions that integrate these resources in new ways that we believe will help to transform healthcare.”
Thomas comes to Premier from the healthcare provider practice of Global Business Services for IBM where she has served as an associate partner leading the Health Analytics practice and was a fellow in the IBM Center for Healthcare Management. With over 20 years of experience in healthcare and technology, Randy has a concentrated background in technology solutions, product planning, product development, consulting and marketing strategy.
Prior to joining IBM, Thomas held several marketing leadership roles with Transition Systems Inc. and Eclipsys Corporation.
Ms. Thomas is an active participant in the healthcare IT industry, serving in various leadership roles with the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and the National Alliance for Health Information Technology (NAHIT).
