Supply Chain Awards
Premier announces top performing hospitals in June
Premier is pleased to present the fourth annual supply chain performance awards during a special ceremony at Premier's Annual Breakthroughs Conference and Exhibition in Washington, DC, June 8-11, 2010.
Premier’s prestigious Supply Chain Excellence and Supply Chain Innovation awards were created to celebrate the innovative ideas that members have implemented to improve supply chain performance, as well as to recognize those members that are performing at the highest levels within their supply chain, as benchmarked against their peers. By celebrating the successes of these leading facilities, Premier aims to encourage all of its members to share and adopt new ideas to transform healthcare to optimum levels of performance.
Premier Supply Chain Excellence Award
The Supply Chain Excellence Award honors top performers based on member submissions to Premier’s SupplyFocus tool. Hospitals will be placed into one of six peer groups:
- Community hospitals, both greater and fewer than the peer group median for acute beds in service;
- Teaching/academic facilities, both greater and fewer than 310 beds;
- Critical access hospitals; and
- IDNs.
Award criteria:
Performance for each peer group will be measured on the following four supply expense ratios, now CMI-adjusted and summed, to identify the top two performers in each peer group:
- Supply expense per net patient revenue
- Supply expense per total operating expense
- Supply expense per adjusted patient day
- Supply expense per adjusted discharge
Premier Supply Chain Innovation Award
The Supply Chain Innovation Award recognizes members who have worked with Premier to introduce the most innovative, high-impact supply chain improvement ideas to membership, or have further distinguished the competitive advantage of the alliance by inspiring more members to introduce and/or actively support development of innovative supply chain improvement ideas. Winning ideas must be operational – already implemented and creating value for members. New products, programs, services, processes, and tools are all possibilities.
A combination of Premier's Strategic Advisory Committee (SAC) members, well-known third party experts and Premier leadership will evaluate entries and select the winners for this award. Submissions may be made by Premier members and/or Premier field representatives.
