The injection system significantly enhances medical imaging by enabling more accurate diagnoses and permitting a higher quality of patient care that is often less invasive.
Premier’s field team maximized the utility of awarded contracts so efficiently that MEDRAD experienced growth levels of almost 300 percent during its first year as a Premier supplier. “Premier is in the upper echelon of GPOs in terms of driving the utilization of its contracts and actively engaging its hospital shareholders to maximize all their contracts,” explained Greg Guarino, the National Account Manager at MEDRAD. Business nearly doubled during the second year as a Premier supplier and increased an additional 60 percent during its third year.
MEDRAD, also a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award winner, values the alignment of goals and strategic direction Premier sets for its suppliers. “Premier has really taken the leading edge in the industry by investing in technology which increases operational efficiency,” said Guarino. “Premier’s field team has three VP level positions solely commissioned to working with their vendors. As a supplier, it’s a great benefit that I only need to make a phone call or two in order to get in front of a hospital or health system CEO.”
In addition to maximizing contract utility, Premier also helped MEDRAD achieve a higher level of efficiency internally. Through the Premier Pinnacle award process, which was created to honor outstanding suppliers, MEDRAD streamlined its internal processes to reduce its operational costs, “The criteria developed for Premier’s Pinnacle award for suppliers really drives a company to evaluate their own levels of operational efficiency. We have taken those lessons and applied them to our organization, especially in managing all of our other contracts,” commented Guarino.
