How Premier helps small suppliers grow
Premier has more than 200 contracts with small, women-owned and minority-owned businesses as defined by the Small Business Administration, offering a wide array of choices to member hospitals and other healthcare providers. By supporting small suppliers, Premier enhances marketplace competition, which helps to reduce costs for patients and taxpayers.

About Premier's Supplier Diversity Initiative
Advised by a member council, Premier's Supplier Diversity Initiative
promotes the use of small and minority-owned businesses in many ways,
including:
- Identifying small businesses with the potential to provide contracted products and services to the Premier membership.
- Educating Premier members about opportunities to partner with small businesses and the benefits of doing so.
- Encouraging Premier’s suppliers to purchase materials from small businesses and facilitating the tracking of those purchases through Premier’s “second tier” reporting process.
- Recognizing leadership in promoting supplier diversity via an annual awards program that recognizes larger suppliers and health systems that demonstrate leadership in supporting supplier diversity.
