NPSF 2007 Congress - Call for posters, early registration

The National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF) will host its Ninth Annual Patient Safety Congress May 3-4, 2007, at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, DC.

The 2007 Congress is entitled "Learning from the Past, Creating the Future," and sessions will focus on effective implementation of programs that result in cultural change and sustained improvement. In keeping with the 10th anniversary of the NPSF Congress, this year’s theme was chosen to recognize the tremendous work that has been accomplished in the field of patient safety, and how we can learn from it to create the future of patient safety that we want for our patients, our families, and ourselves. Early-bird registration is now open with $100 discounts for registration by March 15, 2007. Pre-conference activities on May 2 will include "Pre-Congress: Leadership Day" and "Patient Safety 101."

Call for posters
Solutions and Research poster displays will again be a highlight of the NPSF Patient Safety Congress. Research posters are intended to highlight cutting edge patient safety research. Abstracts describing research that has been implemented in a practical setting with a discussion of the challenges and barriers to implementation are encouraged. Abstracts must report on findings of recent research not descriptions of planned research. Basic research and applied research are of equal interest. Solutions posters are intended to highlight the use of patient safety approaches, methods and tools and the resulting changes that have led to demonstrable reductions in risk of harm, or improved safety across all areas of healthcare.

The extended deadline for poster submission is January 31, 2007. All abstracts will be given final disposition and notification sent out by March 2. For more information, go to www.npsf.org/congress/posters.html for abstract criteria and applications, or contact the NPSF conference department at (703) 964-1240 with any questions.
