Construction and renovation policy
Development and implementation of a comprehensive construction and renovation policy (CRP) is an essential step to ensure consideration of the full scope of construction, renovation and ICRA activities. A well-designed policy ensures timely notification to the designated committee(s) for long range program planning efforts and short term projects. It also provides for an infection control evaluation of each project from concept through completion and supports a systematic approach to project management. The policy should be submitted for approval by the facility’s board of trustees and reviewed/approved periodically. Resources are listed below.

This tool kit (binder and CD) provides sample policies, procedures, essential forms, fact sheets, checklists, and ICRA forms and resource information all in one comprehensive book. Gathered from the APIC Text and 2006 AIA Guidelines, AIA ventilation tables and recommendations along with extensive literature references are included, as well as updated equipment resources. New items have been added including an extensive number of ASHE-APIC FAQ on construction renovation, a new emerging pathogen chapter, enlarged environmental sampling section and new tools. This toolkit was compiled to provide a variety of resources for both new and experienced infection prevention and control professionals (ICPs). The toolkit may be used as an organizational tool to provide rapid access to construction-related literature and other resources for convenience and easy usage. Cost to APIC members $ 103.00.
