South Dakota IDN and its employees enjoy reduced insurance benefit costs
Regional Health in Rapid City, S.D., and its employees will save more than $500,000 during the next three years on insurance premiums as a result of purchasing products through the employee benefit sponsored insurance arrangements with Premier Insurance Management Services Inc. (PIMS), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Premier healthcare alliance.
The healthcare system, which serves western South Dakota, eastern Wyoming and the Nebraska panhandle through more than 40 facilities, and its employees will each realize savings of more than $250,000 as the result of selecting employer-paid term life and employee-paid long-term disability insurance through PIMS. Regional Health also offered employees three voluntary insurance products – short-term disability, vision and critical illness – for the first time.
“I must say this is not only an excellent deal for our employees but also for us as an organization,” said Regional Health Vice President, Human Resources, Robert McGlone, “and the on-site sign-up was also very well received.”
The staff of WorkPlace Solutions, the marketing and enrolling partner for PIMS, who were in charge of enrollment “did a great job,” McGlone said.
“Our employees were extremely happy with the process,” he continued. “They got a copy of what they signed up for from the representative right then and there. All I got was very, very positive feedback. It was a good process that enhanced not only the new benefits but also employees’ understanding of benefits they already have.”
PIMS employee benefits offer participating Premier members additional options. In addition to a selection of highly rated voluntary coverage options – such as dental, vision, cancer, whole and universal life, critical illness, and disability income protection, PIMS also frees valuable resources by providing benefit communications and enrollment services through program administrator WorkPlace Solutions.
