Shawn Griffin, MD
Vice President, Clinical Performance Improvement and Applied Analytics
Dr. Shawn Griffin joined Premier as the vice president for enterprise analytics. Dr. Griffin has 20 years of clinical, technical and informatics expertise, and leverages this experience in developing technology to support value-based care, enterprise analytics and ACO reporting for Premier. His objectives are to help expand the integrated clinical and financial aspects of our enterprise analytics platform, and to support physician-oriented quality and value-based reporting growth while assisting members in value-based and accountable care.
Prior to joining Premier, Dr. Griffin served as the chief quality and informatics officer for the Memorial Hermann Physician Network (MHMD) in Houston, Texas - the most successful Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) organization in the country with almost $200 million in savings over the first three years of the program. He received the Crimson Founders Award in 2011 for his contributions to the development of the Crimson quality measurement platform. Dr. Griffin previously served as the first CMIO for Heartland Health in St. Joseph, Missouri, and Baylor College of Medicine prior to joining MHMD. He has been part of two previous Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award winners, and is a graduate of the Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa.
Dr. Griffin is a nationally recognized speaker and has been a featured presenter for the National Quality Forum, HIMSS, the American Medical Group Association, AMDIS, CHIME and the American Medical Association regarding the topics of physician quality improvement, clinical integration, clinical quality measurement, incentive design, ACOs and population health program development. He was named a "population health all-star" by KLAS, and was a key developer of the initial KLAS Population Health Framework for evaluating software and program capabilities.
