The Premier healthcare alliance applauds Reps. Jodey Arrington (R-TX), Suzan DelBene (D-WA) Roger Marshall (R-KS) and Ami Bera (D-CA) for recognizing the problem with the Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) which creates a “race to the bottom” for healthcare providers who are achieving savings and improving quality for Medicare beneficiaries. The Accountable Care In Rural America Act (H.R. 5212) counteracts this by removing ACOs’ own beneficiaries from the benchmark calculation. Premier joins 13 other healthcare organizations in urging Congress to pass the bill this year.
