A longtime leader in healthcare improvement, we’re developing new ways to revolutionize the industry.
Premier congratulates the Next Generation accountable care organizations (ACOs) for reducing spending by more than $637 million and achieving shared savings in performance year 2020. This includes all five members of the PINC AI™ Collaboratives that generated $54 million in shared savings, all while rapidly changing care to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. These results further demonstrate the accelerated performance of ACOs participating in Premier’s collaboratives that continue to outperform the nation.
As the Next Generation ACO Model concludes this year, Premier strongly urges CMS to incorporate the innovations tested in this model into the Medicare Shared Savings Program and other Innovation Center models. This includes the ability for ACOs to take on full risk, pay participant participants capitated payment, provide more care in the home and alter beneficiary cost sharing.
