Premier Statement for the Record on Examining the COVID-19 Nursing Home Crisis

In a statement to the House Ways and Means Health Subcommittee, Premier urged Congress to designate funds to ensure nursing homes can implement clinical surveillance technology that will provide meaningful assistance with infection control.

Premier also urged lawmakers to incentivize nursing homes that already have electronic health records (EHRs) to adopt and integrate clinical surveillance technology. For those facilities that don’t have existing EHRs, we recommended that Congress designate additional resources to implement that foundational technology, and to also adopt and integrate clinical surveillance technology in the next COVID-19 package.
