A longtime leader in healthcare improvement, we’re developing new ways to revolutionize the industry.
By Leigh Anderson, President of Performance Services, Premier Inc.
Premier is pleased to announce its commitment to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) Antibiotic Resistance (AMR) Challenge. Premier has helped hundreds of healthcare organizations implement successful antimicrobial stewardship programs that strengthen surveillance, reduce inappropriate use and prevent the spread of resistant infections.
Using an array of data-driven solutions, research and educational services, and performance improvement collaboratives, Premier will participate in actionable, impactful, measureable and timely initiatives to further combat AMR. Specifically, Premier is committed to taking action on three of the AMR Challenge’s Core Challenge Areas: Tracking and Data, Infection Prevention and Control, and Antibiotic Use. In doing so, Premier will work to enable increased reporting of antimicrobial usage and resistance (AUR) data; leverage our deep analytics to benchmark and understand usage patterns; and apply our collaborative methodology to target, implement and measure performance improvement efforts.
We look forward to working with our member health systems and other industry partners to continue to fulfill our commitments to the National Action Plan for Combating Antibiotic Resistant Bacteria, as well as other collaborations with the CDC.
