Premier Outlines Approach for CMS Innovation Center to Advance Value-based Care

Leveraging more than a decade of experience running the nation’s largest population health collaboratives, Premier laid out an approach for the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation to advance value-based care. Premier outlined overarching principles that will place providers in the driver’s seat of care delivery and proposed specific reforms to improve existing models, including the Next Generation ACO Model, Direct Contracting Models, CHART Model, bundled payment models, Kidney Care Specialty Models, and the Medicare Shared Savings Program. To address variations in care delivery and outcomes, Premier also called for shifting to a value-based maternity care model paradigm to improve maternal health.
